Archive for March, 2011

Hi there! It has been a busy couple of weeks here…We had the visit of Alister and Juanli, two nature photographers who we met a couple of years already on the internet. They decided to pay us a visit here in the Alps, and we had a lot of fun. We discovered these guys are as exceptional as we had in mind and discussed about some really interesting business ideas…I also discovered an adult can eat up to 7 lemon tarts per day without suffering any kind of severe stomach disease….well, maybe :)

A few days later, we headed for Venice. It was weird. For the last bunch of years we have only travelled to places with densities of population inferior to 0.3 people per 100km2. Well, Venice blew those statistics away…but blame it on the Tiramisu…We had time to shoot around, light was nice and we even had a great sunrise by the gondolas and the San Marco square. Ok, I confess, also tons of ice-cream.

Now, we have been busy releasing the English brochure of the workshops for this 2011 year in the Switzerland region. It can be downloaded from the main page of our website, along with the brochure in French version. As they say, places are filling fast, and we would really like to have you there. So what are you waiting for? ;-) We will be visiting some of the most photogenic places in Switzerland, sleeping in really special places and with even great culinary surprises in some of them. Each workshop comes with a couple of hours of webinar-critique session later on the web, and we even include in the price some voodoo magic to make sure the weather will play ball and light will be magical. We still do not know whether this voodoo thing is scam or not…at least the lady who sold it to us swear about it.

As I am writing this, I see the first big cumulus forming over the Alps at the other side of the lake…this is the real sign spring has arrived to Switzerland…winter, see you next year! :)

This weekend we are attending to the “Memorial Maria Luisa” Nature and Mountain Awards in Asturias, northern Spain. We will be collecting the First Price in the category “Natural Landscapes”, and we will be quite excited to see 5 of our images in the itinerant exhibition which will be unveiled after the awards ceremony. Also, we will have the possibility of rubbing shoulders with some of the best nature photographers…It is going to be particularly great to know personally people like Bence Maté (the overal winner and also BBC 2010 overall winner), Francisco Mingorance, Oriol Alamany and some other “monsters” of the lens :):)

I know some of you will be attending to the ceremony?, I will really really be glad to meet you there!

If only I could stay longer in Asturias after the awards!!!…

Take care and see you this weekend, maybe ;-)!
