I am extremely happy to announce that several of our photographs have been awarded in the last IPA 2011 awards! One of our images got a First Prize in the Nature Category, one portfolio a Second Prize and some other four portfolios got a Highly Commended Award. Needless to say we are quite happy with these results! Now, it is time to forget about all that buzz, get calm, get out there and photograph some more…If contests are a nice cherry on top of the cake, being out there shooting is the whole big cake indeed.

The International Photography Awards, considered by some as the Oscars of Photography, is a sister-effort of the Lucie Foundation, and one of the most ambitious and comprehensive photography contests at the international level. Over 8,000 submissions from 90 countries were received for the 2011 International Photography Awards with over 70 jurors, the largest to date. The Foundation’s mission is to honor master photographers, discover new and emerging talent, and promote the appreciation of photography.
